History Fest and catching up!

Hi!!!!
So, it's October, and that means one thing for my family-
History Fest.

History Fest, if you don't know, is a super cool event run at Jack McGowans farm just outside of Mankato, Minnesota. It's got, like, all sorts of crazy crap going on. So far, this year, there's been...

  • A gang of pirates (including Captain Jack Sparrow himself)

  • FAIRIES.

  • A cool saloon girl to hang out with.
  • A VERY shocked temperance lady

  • TROLL FIGHTS

And so, so much more, including the Satori Violet Belly Dancers

Pottery made by my awesome friends,
(straight out of the kiln!)

AND SO MUCH MORE, including Cody The Buffalo, at least 3 different pirates, jousting knights, a new Huckleberry Finn addition...

It's an incredible experience, and I'm glad to get to do it so often. Tomorrow (Saturday the 11th) will be the last day of the year *sobs* but that's just how it is.

I'm posting again soon, for more photos and such. Also, I'm posting my favorites to my Flickr account, here

ALSO, I SAY THIS WITH COMPLETE DISBELIEF, FIONA IS THREE AS OF TODAY. THREE. HOT DIGGIDY DANG HOW IS IT POSSIBLE? IDK.
also shoutout to my best friend since who knows when, Jess, who just turned 15 on the 8th.
YAY!

So...
bye!

film photography!

So, on the fourth I got my first roll of film developed! The pictures, well, I think they turned out well, but who knows?  Anyway, I figured I'd show you my personal favorites, so here there are!

Toria at the airport after coming home from Portland, Oregon.

frost on the window (with a rainbow in the background, too!)

toria's favorite mug, along with a homemade brownie

our Santa tree-topper

more frost, because I guess I was uninspired

a lovely home-made ornament from one of mom's blog reader's daughter, which is being held by Jack.

a pair of glass bottles on our windowsill.

beads and ornaments hanging in our dining room

our Christmas light-covered tree.

nothing captures the spirit of the holidays better than a mechanical reindeer wearing a lime green lei, right?

hanging snowman head

Alex on the escalator at the airport

our Christmas tree, in all it's randomized glory.

the first picture I took once I got my camera; a tree at the farm where we buy our eggs.

So there you have it, my first roll of film. The other pictures are all either really blurry or, well, the others are all just blurry. Have a great January, I'll blog again soon (and this time I actually will! New year's resolution, I swear to blog more than once every two months! Hold me to that!)

ah, 2013!

Am I the only one who felt like 2013 was way too short?

I always feel like that at the end of the year, like, no matter how many days fly by, it just began, and the suddenly, BAM, it's December 31st again.

Lots of memorable stuff happened this year. Like going to the Badlands (in South Dakota) in May;

Or my 9th year of the pageant, dad's eighth, Alex's first, and Jack's third

when I dyed my hair (three different colors, three different times...)

OR when Toria dyed hers!

when I got my first fancy film  camera (just this month, actually)

Meeting my AMAZING friend Kenn

Losing quite a few beautiful pets

but gaining two more...

and so many other random events that brightened up each month and made 2013 what it was!

See you next year!
